Rubbish around the Rezza - A Personal Project
Before, during and after the Covid19 Lockdowns, Bartley Reservoir has been a favoured place of mine to walk. It's a place I love, not far from where I live on the southern edge of Birmingham, UK. The Reservoir has supplied water to Birmingham since the early 20th century and is, by and large, inaccessible to the general public (except for the local sailing club). The old rural roads around the 'Rezza' are narrow and the traffic heavy and constant, with little provision for pedestrians. Hedgerows girdle the roads from the surrounding farm fields that in summer stand tall with rye and wheat. Unfortunately the area is blighted by constant fly tipping and the thrown rubbish from passing vehicles. What started as a diversion from the banality of Lockdowns has snowballed into a project, that seeks to document the beauty of this area in stark contrast to the pollution put there by Humanity.
