This is a series of slow shutter images that I took on the 15th of June 2020, the day Birmingham officially unlocked from the Covid19 Pandemic. That day, crowds of people flocked to the City after months of Lockdown, as many shops and retail outlets were allowed to re-open. I felt unsettled and fearful, the idea of people coming together again after so long apart was deeply worrying to me. I hope these dreamy surreal images convey that sense of nervousness and misgivings about people coming closer together in a post-pandemic world.
